RESUMO
Durante o período de 1967 a 1970 foram observados 22 casos de toxoplasmose adquirida, forma linfoglandular, no Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Brasil.
Na história clínica dos pacientes sobressaiu micropoliadenopatia, principalmente localizada na região cervical posterior, febre, anorexia, astenia, cefaléia, tonturas, mialgias, hepato-esplenomegalia discreta e linfocitose. A toxoplasmose foi confirmada pela reação de Sabin-Felãman com títulos bastante elevados em todos os enfermos e pelo isolamento do parasito em um doente. Em todos a reação de Paul-Bunnell-Daviãshon foi negativa.
O tratamento instituído consistiu em uma associação de espiramicina com sulfametoxipirimidina, na administração de espiramicina isolada ou, em raros casos, na combinação de pirimetamina com sulfametoxipirimidina.
ABSTRACT
During a three year period from 1967- 1970, the Author studied twenty two cases of acquired toxoplasmosis (glandular form).
The case-hystory consisted of diffuse lymphadenopathy, usually in the neck, fever, fatigue, anorexia, headache, dizziness, muscle pain, hepatosplenomegaly, and lymphocytosis. The clinical diagnosis was confirmed by strongly positive serologic reaction (Sabin-Feldman ‘dye test’), and in one case by isolation of Toxoplasma gondii from the peritoneal exudate of mice, experimentally inoculated with lymph-node fluid. The glandular material tvas obtained by punction of enlarged cervical lymphnode.
A lymph-node biopsy specimen revealed reticuloendothelial hyperplasia with eosinophilic cytoplasm. All patients had negative Paul-Bunnell reaction.
The patients loere treated with Spyramicm and Sulfametoxyprimidine, or spyramicin isolated in a few capes.
